Christmas wrapped
It’s a magical time of year at the Society. There’s just no place like the warm welcome of your whisky club home. But even if you’re further afield, there are still plenty of ways to celebrate with a little Society spirit, as Mads Schmoll tells us
Our Members’ Rooms are a one-stop shop. You can dram. You can dine. You can shop. Did we mention we offer gift wrapping? And if you’re looking for a tasting or a festive meal for a larger group, we can help with that as well.
In Glasgow, there’s a Christmas tapas and whisky tasting every Friday, with live music to follow. It’s ideal for a casual festive night out. There are plenty of other fun events on at Bath Street in December, including a Christmas party on Saturday, 3 December with free entry. No ticket required, just book a table.
Over on the East Coast, The Vaults have a jam-packed month of events. The final distillery visit of the year features distillery manager/master distiller Iain McAllister from Glen Scotia on Monday, 5 December. And the holy trinity of beer, whisky and curry returns with Jack Low from Wasted Degrees on Thursday, 8 December. For fans of flavour, there’s also an assortment of tastings celebrating all that is smoky, and of course exploring sweet, rich and spicy Christmas-inspired drams.
In Edinburgh's New Town, the 28 Queen Street venue are bringing back old favourites, from their weekly masterclass on a Saturday, to Meat & Malt on a Wednesday. It’s the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends over a Society glass. On 23 December it’s all about Christmas in a glass with a festive cocktail followed by a three-dram tasting and Society supper.
In London, at the Greville Street venue, pick a flavour and there will be a tasting for you. From mince pies and sherry casks on Wednesday, 7 December, to chocolate and whisky on Tuesday, 20 December. On Tuesday, 13 December, the team have conjured up something extra special, a four-dram tasting featuring a magician. Last but not least, let’s talk about gifting. Our website is brimming with a sensory feast of flavours, with whisky and whisky gifts aplenty. Our gift guide is ready and waiting, with something for every whisky lover. But if you’re still not quite sure what to buy, our Dram-Cierge team are ready to help. You can reach them Monday to Friday from 8am-6pm up until 22 December.
If all else fails, our Members’ Room pages also offer vouchers that you can buy online for use in the Members’ Rooms. Choose from whisky flights with or without meals and monetary amounts.
