First whisky memory

Growing up in the small village of Glenkinchie, with the distillery a stone’s throw away, I had a lot of whisky memories growing up, whether that be the smell of malt from my dad’s work clothes after shift or visiting him in the still house and seeing the magic happen in real time!

Favourite whisky-drinking music

Blues, one of my favourites would be Howlin’ Wolf.

Best box sets

Gilded Age, a period drama based on the founding ‘society’ families and the new money of New York when rapid industrialisation in America happened during 1865-1898 – can’t wait for season 2!

Fantasy whisky tasting companions I would have loved to have been able to enjoy a few drams with both my grandads together.

Most memorable dram Cask No.7.238: The problem of reality, a 26-year-old from Speyside. After the first sip, I knew I needed a bottle of this, or two!

Guilty pleasure Elvis!

Dream destination Nashville.

Strangest food

You either love it or you hate it…but I love Marmite!

Favourite bar The Raging Bull, a quirky cocktail bar with the best espresso martinis (anyone who knows me knows my love for espresso martinis!) but also anywhere with live music and a great atmosphere.

If you were a flavour profile, what would you be, and why? Old & Dignified, this profile offers rich and clear aromas which I absolutely love. I’m an old soul at heart, who loves almost anything from a bygone era, so this seems the most fitting for me!
