Drams with a view

What are you dreaming of this month? For me, it’s about being back on the glorious Isle of Skye, a fire by the beach, and a bottle of whisky to share with pals.

Whatever you’re thinking about, the prospect of getting out and about with family and friends is growing tantalisingly closer, and with that in mind we’re embracing every aspect of the outdoors in this month’s issue.

To whet the appetite for some al fresco whisky adventures, we’re delighted to present SMWS ambassador Olaf Meier’s recollections and guide to walking the Speyside Way – a fantastic combination of Scottish scenery and single malt whiskies.

Our own Julien Willems picks out 10 trails to connect a walk with a distillery visit. And we present our own outdoorsy staff picks of the best fresh air flavour profiles, whether you want to practise some leisurely yoga or throw yourself down a hill on a mountain bike.

It’s not all adventure though – take some time to relax and enjoy our feature on the resurrection of Rosebank distillery, find out more about the custodian of the SMWS cask warehouse, and meet Society member and single-batch tea aficionado, Médéric Hauchard.

All that and more, with whisky knowledge and a chance to get to know our 28 Queen Street Members’ Room manager, Sarah Prior.

Wherever you are and whatever your plans… enjoy.

Slàinte,
