Taking a different approach

We’re always looking for different ways to experience our whisky, and this month we’re celebrating some interesting approaches, both within the Society and elsewhere in the wider whisky world.

Pairings have become commonplace with whisky, but we thought we’d put our maverick credentials to the test by inviting three adventurous members to The Vaults to try a tasting with a selection of insects and Society drams. Ready to try a crunchy cricket with your next single cask bottling? You can find out how those paired up and how our members got on in Duncan Gorman’s feature.

Elsewhere we find out how Glen Scotia distillery is taking a different approach to how people experience its location, with an innovative musical collaboration that captures the sounds of the distillery and the Campbeltown environment.

And we hear from Society Tasting Panel chair Angus MacRaild and his business partner Jonny McMillan about their plans to return to the days of wood-fired distillation when they open up their new distillery venture, Kythe in Perthshire.

Pour yourself a dram – or even our Vaults Collection-inspired cocktail – and dive in to another maverick month of whisky adventures.

Cheers!
