First whisky memory

It was in 2015, at my sister in-law’s wedding. Everyone was drinking Laphroaig and so I tried it and was baffled at how people could drink it! I’ve come a long way and now am a total peat-head!

Favourite whisky-drinking music

I dance in-between jazz and classical, and there are so many amazing artists. Sidney Bechet, Miles Davis, Erland Cooper and Max Richter are usually in heavy rotation.

Fantasy whisky tasting companions Jim McEwan, on Islay with my bare feet in the grass, drinking something from a Rivesaltes wine cask.

Most memorable dram Cask No. 135.1: Sensual Sensory Sensation. It ignited my love of Sauternes and my deep appreciation for Distillery 135!

Most used emoji 😐

Guilty pleasure A cheesy gordita crunch from Taco Bell. I will never say no to one (or two)!

Dream destination I still haven’t been to Islay, which may be at the top of my list!

Strangest food

Jello, it’s the absolute worst!

Favourite bar I love Lucky Liquor Co in Edinburgh for its energy and cocktails and La Whiskeria in Barcelona for its cosy atmosphere to enjoy some fantastic drams!

If you were a flavour profile, what would you be, and why? Right now, I’d say Juicy, Oak & Vanilla, a flavour profile that’s confident in its complex simplicity and one that I am just really enjoying at the moment.
