Our host, BBC Scotland DJ and writer Vic Galloway will be leading members of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society around the world on a journey of discovery to celebrate the life and work of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, with music, poetry and whisky talk from across the country – and far beyond our own shores.

Tam is a well known star of stage and screen, and is also a long-standing Burns performer, including with his band he performs in, The Bum-Clocks.
Jane Brown
A former landlady of Burns’s favourite tavern, The Globe Inn in Dumfries, Jane ‘Jean Armour’ Brown is now a Burns ambassador and tour guide.
Donald Livingstone
Donald ‘Doc’ Livingstone is a Skye-based musician and SMWS member who also happens to make whisky, as a distiller with Torabhaig distillery on Skye.
John McCheyne
John is a well-kent face for all members of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society as a long-standing master brand ambassador, and as an aficionado of our national poet Robert Burns.
Stina Tweeddale
Stina has been performing as Honeyblood since 2012 and combines her love of music with a passion for whisky, especially SMWS single cask, single malts.
Sir Geoff Palmer
Sir Geoff is a ground-breaking barley scientist, academic and human rights activist who also happens to be an ambassador for the Robert Burns World Federation.
Len Pennie
Len is a poet and advocate for the Scots language who started out competing in Burns poetry recital competitions and is now a social media star with her own Scots-language poetry.
Nickeishia Barnes
Nickeishia is a singer-songwriter who contributed to Jamaica Sings Burns, reimagining his work from the island where he once accepted a role working on a plantation.
Sam Gillespie and Siannie Moodie
Society regulars Sam and Siannie are regular performers at The Vaults and bring a special passion for the work of Robert Burns to our livestream event.
