Embracing change

Welcome to the new incarnation of Unfiltered, with our first online edition. I hope you like what you see.

It hasn’t been an easy decision to move from print to digital, and I wasn’t ready to make that switch until I believed we had a way to properly bring the magazine to life online. But by investing in a platform that allows Unfiltered to shine on any digital device, I’m looking ahead with confidence to editing a magazine that remains a pleasure to read, in terms of both its excellent content, its stunning photography and as always its fantastic design.

The best news is that as a member of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, you’ll now be receiving a new magazine every month instead of every three months, with a constant feed of whisky news and knowledge, Society insights, member stories, distillery profiles, interviews with leading figures from the wider whisky world and much, much more. From September onwards, we’ll be implementing a member log-in system. You’ll have to be part of the Society to access our beautifully designed monthly whisky magazine.

For now, dive in and explore what we have in issue 48, from a profile of the rising English whisky scene to the search for Scotland’s lost distilleries and much more besides.
