ABOVE: roll up for a coffee and whisky experience
Transport yourself
I hope this finds you getting into the swing of 2025 and already thinking about some adventures ahead through the course of the year. There’s nothing like a bit of escapism during our darker months, and we have plenty to offer up in February.
That starts with our focus on the Society’s Tasting Panel, and how its panellists continually come up with bottle names and tasting notes that can transport you to a different world with their imaginative descriptions. The Tasting Panel brings the whisky in your bottle to life, but its functions go far beyond coming up with fun names and notes, as we discover in our deep dive into how it works.
I had the pleasure of meeting different members recently who have a fascination with flavour, not only in whisky, but across the worlds of tea and coffee, to find out about their flavour adventures and how their expertise crosses over into the world of whisky.
And I know our members are an adventurous bunch – but how many can say they’re training for a mission to outer space? We’re delighted to introduce Dr Mason Robbins and find out more about his combined passion for space exploration and whisky.
We have all that and much more, including a welcome to new Vaults manager Josh Hampshire – if you’re paying a visit to our spiritual home in the near future, be sure and say hello.
Cheers,
