A bright new year
So we’re into 2022, a time of fresh starts, resolutions, making plans and looking ahead to all the possibilities that stretch out in front of you for the next 12 months.
We’re keeping optimistic about a year packed with whisky adventures, with Moa Nilsson providing some inspiration as she charts a course through a calendar of events and occasions to inspire any whisky adventurer. That calendar kicks off, of course, with our annual celebration of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, and in this issue of Unfiltered we’re delving into his associations with whisky in Gavin D Smith’s whisky history feature, as well as celebrating the Scots language with modern poet Len Pennie. The Society will be planning various Burns Suppers both in person and online, so make sure you join the celebrations wherever you happen to be.
We’re also going to be taking a deeper dive throughout 2022 into the Society’s 12 flavour profiles, and start off with a perfect winter warmer in our Deep, Rich & Dried Fruits style of whisky. Check out that, meet some new members and get to know more about our spirits director Kai Ivalo as you settle down with a suitable January dram.
Happy New Year and here’s to a fantastic 12 months of whisky exploration, entertainment and friendship ahead.
Cheers,
