Classic cocktails for Christmas

We’re all in search of a little more comfort than usual as we head deeper into winter and Christmas approaches. So we asked some of our Society bartenders to come up with cocktails which are easy to make at home, and evoke blissful memories of a pre-covid Christmas. Cheers!

CHRISTMAS MILK PUNCH

Add 50ml of almond milk to a cocktail shaker, 20 ml of vanilla syrup, a shot and a half of whisky (37.5ml) – something from our Spicy & Sweet or Sweet, Fruity & Mellow flavour profiles would work best. Top up the shaker with ice, give it a good shake. Use a rocks glass filled with ice, and strain the cocktail shaker into the glass. Add some freshly grated nutmeg.

NEGRONI

Pour 25ml of campari, 25ml of red vermouth martini and 25ml of Society gin into a rocks glass. Top up with ice, stir and a slice of orange.

SOCIETY OLD FASHIONED

Place a sugar cube on a napkin on top of a rocks glass, and add five or six drops of angostura bitters Drop the sugar cube into the glass and add a splash of soda water. Crush and then stir the sugar into the soda water, then add 50ml of whisky. Top up with ice and stir for at least 20 seconds. Garnish with a slice of orange peel and a maraschino cherry.

IT’S ONLY GIN AND JUICE BUT I LIKE IT

Put ice in a cocktail shaker, then add 3ml of elderflower cordial, 50ml of Society gin, 150ml of fresh grapefruit juice and a couple of leaves of fresh basil. Shake for about 10 seconds and then pour directly into a highball glass. Garnish with some dried grapefruit and basil.

STINGER

A great after-dinner drink. Add 25ml of white crème de menthe and 50ml of Society cognac such as Trifle Delightful to a mixing glass. Stir gently and then strain into a strained coupe glass.
